3 minutes with…Danny Boubli, Project Director The Rathbone

  1. How have residential developments evolved during your 36 years in the property industry?
There is an increasing focus on urban renewal which aims to limit the urban sprawl and put people closer to employment, transport, recreational and retail hubs. Apartments particularly have changed enormously and now offer buyers a sense of community, a convenient urban experience and lifestyle with reduced commute times and immediate access to a range of shopping, entertainment and recreation amenities.
  1. What keeps you passionate about the property industry after so many years?
The challenge; no two days are the same and no two developments are the same. However, the one thing that is common with all developments is the serious responsibility and great privilege of being involved in the creation of homes and communities where people want to live.
  1. In your experience what are the key factors purchasers are looking for when selecting a new residence?
Buyers needs and wants have evolved over the years, but in today’s market buyers are looking for value and solid, trustworthy developers that not only deliver quality developments, but also create a sense of belonging.
  1. What elements are required to create the ideal residential development?
All residential developments should be customer led and respond to the purchasers wants and needs. Today’s buyers are looking for well-located developments that demonstrate thoughtful and well considered design, which translates to functional floor plans, security, storage and the inclusion of quality fittings. Savvy consumers are also on the lookout for good acoustic performance, best in class environmental credentials and welcoming well activated community spaces.
  1. How are mixed-use tenancies changing the design landscape of residential developments?
Mixed use or retail tenancies are often neglected or an afterthought in the overall project design. Rathbone residents will experience the convenience of a well-crafted retail experience that will activate the building and surrounding precinct. We have been fortunate enough to secure Salt Meats Cheese for The Rathbone – a family-owned business that will provide a vibrant atmosphere offering authentic Italian food and drinks.
  1. Drawing on your industry experience, what makes The Rathbone a unique opportunity for purchasers?
At The Rathbone, we have been able to create a quality boutique development of “sky terraces” with extensive views to the Eastern Suburbs, expansive roof top communal area, sought after parking and customisable fittings. This is all being delivered with the environment in mind. The Rathbone has secured the highly sought after 6 leaf EnviroDevelopment rating, which we are extremely proud of.
